The goal of the Languages at Work program is provide you with an opportunity to practice English in a work environment.

Who is Eligible?
To participate in this program, you must be:
  • Between 18 and 30 years old

  • Available to work after the Explore Program for 6-8 weeks

What Types of Summer Jobs are Available?
Job placements could include restaurants, stores, hostels, museum/cultural centers, or day camps. Job placements will be made according to the needs of the participant and the employer, so that the program is as enjoyable and beneficial as possible. However, the main goal of the Languages at Work program is to improve your proficiency in English. This means you may be offered a job in a field other than your preferred options.

Please see below for the summer jobs available for 2010!

Details!
The Languages at Work program will provide you with 35 hours/week of work at your placement, at a wage of $10.50/hour. After you complete the program, you will receive a certificate of completion in the program, a reference letter, and will be eligible to apply for the Guillaume Hessel Bursary.

You will be responsible for your own living expenses, but the coordinator (Kent Davies) will help you with these arrangements. Costs associated with changes to travel plans (plane/train ticket, etc.) will be reimbursed upon presentation of receipts.

The Languages at Work Coordinator is always there to act as a liaison between you, YCW, and your job placement. I will try my best to make sure that you are satisfied with the experience from beginning to end.
